Healthcare
- Remediated 417 hospitals in six months to conform to ANSI X.12 and ICD-10 for a nationwide US pharmacy benefit manager.
- Designed the healthcare industry’s only managed-services canonical and regressive ANSI X.12 5010 validation platform.
- Engineered a health information exchange interconnecting 18,000 physicians, 75 hospitals and 2,500 clinics across a major metropolitan region over HL7 and X12.
- Migrated payer transaction systems to a high-performance compute platform serving 80% of US Medicare Advantage plan volume.
- Designed and implemented the nation’s first 340B automated fulfillment infrastructure, subsequently acquired.
- Delivered the industry’s first wireless mobile diagnostic clinical instrument on an M2M chipset, under a 510(k) quality system.
Telecommunications
- Defined and implemented migration of extremely high transaction architectures in mission-critical environments serving more than 100 million users daily for Tier-1 carriers.
- Architected and deployed fully automated bare-metal OpenShift clusters on CoreOS and PXE for Tier-I and Tier-II carriers.
- Designed, developed and deployed multiple VNFs, plus orchestration and high-availability virtualized NFV solutions, for Tier-1 carrier architectures.
- Built a carrier-class network and custom OSS/BSS infrastructure spanning three metropolitan markets on a full IP network with SDN and enterprise 5G-capable access.
- Advised Tier-1 carrier teams on edge compute strategy, including design and integration of high-density compute and storage edge nodes.
Enterprise, commerce and finance
- Designed enterprise internet commerce infrastructure operating at one million transactions per second for a major online service provider.
- Designed international shipping and logistics infrastructure capable of full automation of packages and freight, at a company subsequently acquired by a global carrier.
- Remediated a multinational trading house’s platform that was misinterpreting trade values.
- Remediated a major search engine’s ranking algorithm.
- Improved availability to 99.999% for a hosted cloud retail platform through architecture remediation across 350+ Linux hosts.
- Took over AWS Linux infrastructure for an internet products provider under emergency conditions and realized greater than 50% EC2 cost reduction.
Executive and standards
- Managed a $13M profit-and-loss statement and 40 direct reports as Chief Information Officer of a healthcare technology practice.
- Conceptualised, designed and implemented a MITA solution for a US state Medicaid program.
- Voting member of the Accredited Standards Committee ASC ANSI X12 since 2009, validating EDI transaction specifications for X12 5010.
- Member of the IEEE since 2010.

Principal co-founder of Orchard AI
Koi Consulting is a principal co-founder of Orchard AI — sovereign ai infrastructure, and the operating system for an enterprise that runs on AI.
This matters commercially rather than as a credential. Consultancies that advise on AI are reselling access to a platform they do not control and cannot inspect. We author the runtime, the memory layer, the governance hooks and the routing gateway, we run them in production, and we deploy them inside client infrastructure where the data cannot leave.
